Case Study: Bloating & Discomfort

A 30 year old female patient was experiencing uncomfortable lower belly bloating that was hard, distended and painful. The client was experiencing bowel motions every 1-2 days, which were usually at the end of the day after dinner. They were also hard to pass. Her bloating would occur immediately after food and wouldn’t go down until the next day. She felt like she was constantly bloated to some extent.
She had cut out some FODMAP foods years prior to the consultation and in her diet was already avoiding: onion, garlic, dairy, apple, dates, & only eating gluten on occasion. She would eat mostly organic food cooked from home and consumed a wide variety, including eggs, sauerkraut, paleo bread, avocado, liver patte, vegetables, meat, nut butter, coconut yoghurt, curry, rice etc.
Treatment

After the initial consultation, the patient was prescribed the following to support both her digestion and liver function:

GI Defence

• 1 x scoop three times daily

Lipotropex

• 1 x scoop three times daily*

Digest Premium

• 1 x capsule with each meal

Alongside the dietary elimination protocol that comes with RN Labs Medi Restore.

*Lipotropex was prescribed as the patient was also experiencing acne after coming off the contraceptive pill. Lipotropex could also be supportive for bile production which may also assist the consistency of bowel motions.

Outcome

Within 1 week, the patient experienced a reduction in hand numbness upon waking and an increase in energy, alongside an overall reduction in cramping.
