A 35-year-old woman presented with Hashimoto’s postural tachycardia syndrome and Fibromyalgia. She was currently on multiple medications and supplements to manage her symptoms. However, she had recently experienced a flare in her symptoms which presented as aching muscles and joints. This flare-up greatly inhibited her ability to exercise or sleep due to pain and was further affecting her moods. |
Treatment
The patient was prescribed the following to reduce her pain levels: • 700mg twice a day |
Outcome
The patient experienced a decrease in her myalgia related joint pain after a few days of supplementation, with the pain completely disappearing after three weeks. The patient also experienced a decrease in her brain fog and experienced an uplift in her moods as well. She is currently able to complete 10km bush walks, jump on trampolines and complete HITT workouts without an issue. The patient plans on continuing PEA for at least 3 months. |
