Case Study: Food Intolerances, Fatigue and Low Moods

A 27-year-old female presented with severe bloating and food intolerances that were affecting both her energy and moods.

The bloating was primarily present in the lower belly. She stated that she had ongoing issues with food intolerances (gluten and dairy) for the majority of her life and these intolerances were leading to both a lack of energy and unsteady moods.

Increased stress would result in IBS, leading to feelings of being run down and unwell for the entire day. The patient felt trapped in an unhealthy cycle of eating what she perceived to be healthy food and then experiencing symptoms and becoming unwell the next day.

Treatment

The patient was given a 1 month treatment plan which consisted of dietary modifications and the addition of Medi Restore.

The patient had previously eaten what she believed to be a healthy diet but was susceptible to overeating. She had a habit of eating large portions to maintain satiety for a longer time; in fact, she would eat until extremely full and often felt unwell from the overeating.

The patient was instructed to eat more regular portions, and choose vegetables and fruit if she felt the need to eat more.

She had also eliminated alcohol completely and increased her water intake. The patient also ensured that no traces of gluten or dairy were present in her diet, whereas before, she had not worried if there were traces present.

The patient continued drinking Medi Restore as a smoothie or with water for the entire month and stated she enjoyed the taste. She stated that she enjoyed how satiated she felt from the product.

Outcome

The patient said that after 1 month of Medi Restore, she had felt better than she had at any point in time in her life. She said the product had also stopped her from overeating and over-snacking during lockdown periods when she was at home for longer periods of time.

In terms of symptoms, the patient found that her bloating was reduced and her ability to digest food was much greater alongside more regular bowel motions, which were more solid and occurred 3-4 times per day. She also felt lighter, more energised and genuinely happier after taking Medi Restore. She had previously steered away from high-waisted pants due to experiencing uncomfortable tightness around her waist and clothing but could now wear them throughout the entire day comfortably.

She also reported that she no longer felt sick or had to stay on the toilet for long periods of time.
